About Haunted Continents, a solo project of James A.M. Downes
Haunted Continents is the solo project of Brooklyn based singer-songwriter James A.M. Downes. James has been around since 2002, knee-deep in the basements of the American north east indie/hardcore scene. Starting in September of 2018, Haunted Continents will release a single a month for an entire year. The songs (all to be released on Downes’ own Forest Park Recordings) reverberate with lush guitar beds over new-retro progressions creating a sound that fans of The Shins or Death Cab for Cutie would find shelter in. While features of James's previous EP (Prison Font) in Relix Magazine and a feature/nomination for Deli Magazine NYC’s “Favorite Emerging Artist” help circulate the recorded music, James continues to bring the live show all around the east coast. Most concert-goers would agree with The Deli’s Henry Solotaroff-Webber that “James boldly [displays] his talent as a songwriter, and [solidifies] himself as someone to watch.”
About Mary Esther Carter
Mary Esther Carter makes music from the guts. Best described as "experimental soul," she is deeply influenced by the blues and, as a dancer as well, anything that inspires her to move. Her debut EP will be released this fall!
About Scott Mangan
Website / Video: "Better World"
Scott is a playful, yet occasionally earnest and compelling vocalist and guitarist. His band Mildred Moody has an EP coming out soon.

Rivergigs is a private live music concert series founded in 2013 by Andy in Washington Heights, Manhattan. He and his wife Brenna offer their apartment, with a view of the Hudson River, as a place to experience inspiring music with a community of friends, amidst an often impersonal and hectic city. Oh, and to have a ton of fun!
